BEST TIME TO VISIT:  MARCH TO APRIL  

The mid – ranges have occasional snow that melts rapidly, and some short spells of rain’s – otherwise the days are bright and sunny.  

Most areas of district Bilaspur, Solan, Sirmour, Kangra, Mandi, and Una start warming up. Chamba, Kullu, kinnaur and shimla are still cool.  

Many areas of Lahaul and spiti are not open to regular road traffic.  

With fresh green in the woods, and rhododendron and other flowers in bloom, Himachal stretch its limbs after a winter Slumber.  

Places to See :

All the major tourist destinations are open for the tourists this time of the year; accept the access to lahaul via Rohtang Pass remains closed.  

 

Travel Tips  

  1. In March you can avail discounts in hotels but in April its better to do reservation of hotel of choice in advance.
  2. While traveling to high Hills always carry goggles and Sun screen lotion.
  3. Always stay only in Govt. approved hotels.

  3. Holi – Palampur, Sujjanpur
  4. Spring Festival – Kullu
  5. Balasundari fair - Trilokpur near Nahan
  6. Sui Mela- Chamba
  7. Markandaya fair-Bilaspur
  8. Also the time when fishing and low altitude trekking raise their winter barriers.
